Our story
2010
The gamble
Our passion for wine and for nature led us to take a gamble: the purchase of our first hectare and a half of Barbera vines in Incisa Scapaccino, just a few kilometers from Nizza Monferrato.
From that gamble came a few thousand bottles of Barbera, vinified in the cellar of a dear friend who believed in us.
Some of those precious bottles are still kept in our cellar today — a treasure waiting to be tasted!
2013
The turning point: the purchase of the Serralunga d'Alba estate
The gamble proved successful, and so the Serralunga d’Alba estate was purchased, nestled among the hills of the Langhe, recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
The property consisted of three and a half hectares of Nebbiolo for Barolo, surrounding the ancient cellar which, over the years, underwent a major renovation, becoming today’s production facility and the beating heart of our winery.
In that same year, our deep respect for nature led us to adopt a more environmentally sustainable approach to vineyard management: we began the organic conversion of our vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba.
2016
Organic certification
The Serralunga d'Alba vineyards obtain organic certification.
2018
The development of the winery
Our passion for wine and for exceptional terroirs led us to acquire additional parcels, all ideally suited to high-quality wine production: Barbera and Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in Castelnuovo Calcea (near Nizza Monferrato), and Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay vineyards in Perletto (near Cortemilia).
In this way, the Garesio winery now encompasses a total of 25 hectares of vineyards, with an annual production of around 85,000 bottles.
2019
"Resilio" is born
At the onset of the pandemic period, we produced the first vintage of our Monferrato Bianco DOC, 100% Sauvignon Blanc, which we named “Resilio.”
A wine that embodies the taste of resilience, courage, and hope rising above fear.
2020
Organic even in the cellar
Our desire to produce outstanding wines led us to obtain organic certification for the winery as well: we vinify using only the products and processes authorized by Regulation 203/2012.
At last, our Barolo Gianetto and Barolo Cerretta have earned the green organic leaf on the label.
2021
Achieving two important milestones
After several vinification trials, the first vintage of our “Resilio” is released, aged for about 8 months in Tava terracotta amphorae.
In the same year, our Barolo from the municipality of Serralunga also received organic certification.
2024
The Garesio Wine Resort is born
After an ambitious restoration project of the historic farmhouse in Serralunga d’Alba, adjacent to the current winery, the Garesio family opened the brand-new Garesio Wine Resort, featuring 8 suites and 2 double rooms, a breakfast room, and a wellness area with an outdoor infinity pool.
